Chris Martin Murphy

Chris has 49 years’ experience in marketing, advertising (32 years including Intnl. VP/MD of Y&R, and MD of The Campaign Palace), and market research (44 years designing quantitative and 26 years conducting qualitative research).  Chris founded Interface Research & Strategy in 1998.

Chris consults to clients on business development, product, distribution, branding, marketing, communications and research. Chris’s category experience includes airlines, alcoholic beverages, automotive, charities, computers, decoration, electronics, employment and training, entertainment, fashion, financial services, food, furnishings, grocery chains, hardware stores, healthcare, hospitality, internet, leagues clubs, legal services, media, medical insurance, pet food, pharmaceutical, property, publishing, retail music, shopping centres, software, sporting goods, telecommunications, toiletries, travel and weight control.

His hobbies include photography, lawn bowls, tennis and performing blues music live (‘The Blues Collective’).


Joseph Loewy

Joseph spent 30 years working on the healthcare advertising agency side as creative director of two of Australia’s largest and most longstanding Healthcare Agencies – Sudler & Hennessey and Hammond & Thackeray.

As principal of Red Stallion Healthcare Research, Joseph has provided healthcare research and strategy consultation for a wide variety of therapeutic categories in the ethical/prescription and OTC sector, and has conducted extensive research with both practitioners and recipients of healthcare services since 2002. Healthcare research clients have included Bayer, Boehringer, J&J, Nestle, MSD, Novartis, Organon, Parke Davis, Pfizer (9), Pharmacia, Roche, Sanofi, Searle, Syntex, Wellcome & Wyeth. Joseph also conducts a large number of strategy workshops using his own proprietary techniques (e.g. journey mapping) for clients including AMP, Asciano, Aurecon, BankWest, BMS, Fujitsu, NBNco, Ogilvy, Sanofi, UTS and Westpac.


Jennifer Kluck

Jennifer has over 26 years experience as a supplier of market research. She commenced her research career in 1989 at BHP Steel conducting industrial research.

Since then she has worked in 3 MR agencies (Austin and Partners, CM Research and The Leading Edge), before starting her own consultancy in 1998. Throughout her tenure at CM Research she was involved in running brand health monitors and satisfaction studies for Colgate Palmolive, NSW Lotteries, Quality Bakers, Coty, Email Appliances (now Electrolux), Janssen-Cilag, Kimberley Clarke, Air New Zealand and Lever-Rexona. At The Leading Edge she ran accounts for NRMA, Benckiser, Coca-Cola, Carter Wallace and Kelloggs. Jennifer established her own consultancy to spend less time on administration and more time conducting research.

She has conducted both B2B and B2C research for ADFA, ANZ, Assirt Financial, BT Financial, CitiBank, Country Road, Destination NSW, Doubleday, Enjo, McDonalds, Network Ten, Pfizer, Roche, RPData, TAFE Plus & Westpac, several of these together with Interface.

She loves listening to people and discovering how products and services can best be improved to maximise the customer’s experience.


Doris Pozzi

Research Consultant – AMSRS QPMR
B.Sc. (Hons) M.Ed. Psychology (Melbourne)

Doris has 28 years experience in market research, management and organisational change, commencing with Frank Small & Associates on numerous projects for Shell, Australia Post, Telecom, ANZ and Qantas. Then she was a senior consultant of The Wallis Group, working on projects for Uncle Toby’s, National Mutual, ANZ and Department of Health & Human Services.

On the client side, Doris was then market research manager for State Bank Victoria, later for ANZ, before heading the market research team at Telstra. In 1995 she founded Dorian Welles, a management, research and strategy consultancy whose clients have included ANZ, Australia Post, CRA, REIV, RMIT, SDA, Oxfam and Telstra. She has also worked on many projects with Interface Research & Strategy, most recently in the companion animal health area for Merial.

In 1998 Doris co-authored the book ‘Success With Soul’ and has since authored two more books, ‘Edible Weeds & Garden Plants of Melbourne’ and the children’s picture book ‘Dylan & Zoe Eat Weeds’.

Her present hobbies include edible food gardening, natural soap-making and hosting tours of her botanical garden in Melbourne’s Yarra Valley.


Beth Dungey

Research Consultant – AMSRS QPMR
B.Comm. (UWA); B.A. Industrial Relations & Psychology (UWA)

Beth Dungey commenced her career at Ogilvy & Mather Advertising in Perth, Western Australia in 1986, then was customer research co-ordinator for SGIO in Perth in 1988-92. In 1992, Beth joined R&I Bank, which became BankWest, where she was market research manager. While at BankWest, Beth designed research to develop new home loan, business banking and credit card products, as well as research into brand image, customer profiles and communications, customer satisfaction and employee attitudes.

The dawn of the new century saw Beth switch to market research consulting, first at a member of BankWest’s Internal Consulting Unit and then working for herself. Beth has worked on client research projects for both Interface Research & Strategy and The
Financial Research Company. An accomplished qualitative and quantitative market researcher, and known for her love of solving thorny problems, Beth’s special interests include financial services research, customer service research, employee research and gaining insights from Big Data. Beth has chaired the AMSRS WA Committee and led 20% growth in WA members.

Outside work, Beth enjoys travel and sport, both as a participant and supporting her children in their sporting and cultural pursuits.


James Parker

James launched Jetty Research in 2006. Jetty Research has built a blue-chip portfolio of clients for its quantitative research and community engagement services. These include a wide range of local councils and state government departments, major companies such as Ramsay Health Care and AGL, and academic institutions such as the University of NSW and the University of Technology, Sydney.

James is also working currently on several clients of Interface Research & Strategy and its specialist division The Financial Research Company. Prior to 2006 James had twenty years commercial experience in finance, research, media and management. This included stockbroking, journalism at Australian Business, managing director (ANZ) of TNT Magazine (2001-2004), and publisher of Men’s Health and New Woman (1997-2001).

He is a family man, a traveller and concertgoer with special expertise in designing surveys that deliver real social and commercial value.


Stephen Prendergast

Quantitative Research & Data Modelling Consultant – AMSRS QPMR

Stephen owns Prescience Research which is a specialist quantitative research and modelling agency. With 25 years experience in market research, he worked for a number of blue chip agencies before establishing Prescience in 2004.

Before market research he was a management consultant with KPMG and a paint chemist with Dulux. He is well known for his use of mathematical and statistical models for better decision making, and has applied these to customer service/loyalty studies, advertising response, brand health tracking and time series analysis, customer segmentation, data mining and demand estimation models including choice modelling, conjoint and simulated test markets.

He has post-graduate training in choice modelling, marketing models, general linear models and structural equation modelling. He has also lectured on Marketing Models and Market Research at Monash, and has written articles on statistics and marketing support.

Stephen is currently Chair of AMSRS Professional Development Committee and a leading trainer on statistical methods in the Australian Market & Social Research Society.
